Don't Miss This Fundraising Event Organized by SeaWatch

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic we cannot say when but we are committed to Sabor a Mar. Here's a video from last year's event.

 

The next Sabor a Mar will feature the top restaurants in La Paz.
All of the restaurants have agreed not to serve illegally caught reef-critical parrotfish in their establishments. Here's what they have to say:

Tatanka Restaurant

Jazamango Restaurant

Huizache Restaurant

Casa al Mar Restaurant

Briqueta Restaurant

 

The event is a fund raiser for the 5 NGO’s that work  tirelessly on the reef and reef fish recovery. Two of the 5 NGO's (Espiritu Santo es parte de ti and ROC) were originated by and are primarily funded with your donations to SeaWatch.

1. Espiritu Santo es Parte de Ti (Espíritu Santo is a part of you): A grassroots campaign to promote pride among the 350,000 citizens of La Paz in a healthy, vibrant Espiritu Santo National Park and the Eco tourism businesses it supports.
2. Red de Observadores Ciudadanos (ROC): A non-profit network of citizen observers that works directly with government authorities to support vigilance at Espiritu Santo National Park and surrounding areas.
3. Rescate de lobos marinos (Sea Lion Rescue): A non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue of sea lions injured by entanglement with nets in Espíritu Santo National Park.
4. Mar Libre (Free Sea): A non-profit organization that performs monthly cleanups on reefs and mangroves, and gives talks on environmental education in primary, secondary and high schools.
5. Eco: A non-profit organization that carries out underwater monitoring of marine species within Espíritu Santo National Park and is working to help pass a law that protects parrotfish from all extraction

Most importantly the event energizes and solidifies in the minds of the citizens of La Paz the importance of keeping the most beautiful National Park in all the Sea of Cortez ecologically healthy for the ecotourism that will support La Paz for generations to come.

SeaWatch Year End Raffle

The lucky winner is Gordon Harris! Scott Hanson donated his popular “Winter Song” sculpture to SeaWatch for our year-end raffle. This beautiful sculpture was raffled in January.
